The Male Nurse: Though this is actually a blog, it serves as a forum for male nurses everywhere. It highlights articles and opinions on the stereotype of a male nurse, which can be quite interesting. It also offers up job opportunities and scholarships that men in this field can get into as a sort of minority. Therefore it’s an excellent blog for a male nurse to check out and become informed through.
The Man-Nurse Diaries: Not only is this written by a man in a predominantly female dominated field, but it offers up some very interesting insight overall. This is a man who is newly serving as an RN and loving the role. He happens to have four kids, so his work life balance is often entertaining as well. He creates an excellent blog to follow along with.
Licensed to Ill: This is definitely for adult readers only, but it offers a very unique and sometimes entertaining point of view. This is a male nurse who often refers to himself as “Angry Male Nurse” and he offers no apologies. He speaks to his inability to get any respect in his position and how the world looks at him in this role. He is often entertaining and though he pushes the limit, he makes for an intriguing point of view on what it’s like to really truly be a male nurse.
St. Vincent’s Hospital-Male Nurses: This is a man who started at the bottom and worked his way up the ranks as a male nurse. He speaks to his experiences and offers others to comment that have the same type of point of view. He has seen it all and likes to tell you all about it, so it makes for an interesting read.
Male nurses are becoming more and more prominent. That may be why you see more blogs popping up and along with that comes some very interesting points of view.
